What is hell like, and how does one avoid an eternity of torment? Bill Wiese shares his unforgettable experience during which God allowed him to see and feel the agony people endure in hell.
Wiese’s visit to the devil’s lair lasted just twenty-three minutes, but he returned from this with vivid details etched in his memory. He records an accurate account of his experience in this book, prese…

Review
Sorry but I don’t believe this story…but the Christian doctrine is good.

I’ve been a Christian for 45 yrs, an RN for 18. I was hoping to find out more about my God and more about hell by reading this book. It did NOT happen for me anyway. By the time I got past just the 5th page, I could no longer trust the author. Maybe I know too much about REAL near-death experiences as an RN. The good…

Review
Boring, flat, no emotion. The only reason I gave a a second star was the important subject matter. But, could this story have been told in a more boring way, more lacking in feeling? I don’t think so. It’s too bad, as so many moving stories about this terrible time in American history could have been told. I am bored to death with this stinkeroo….

Now for the first time ever, J.K. Rowling’s seven bestselling Harry Potter books are available in a stunning paperback boxed set! The Harry Potter series has been hailed as “one for the ages” by Stephen King and “a spellbinding saga’ by USA Today. And most recently, The New York Times called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows the “fastest selling book in history.” This is the ultimate…

Review
I have read every Harry Potter book and seen every movie, so you might wonder if listening to these audiobook versions wouldn’t be a bit too much Harry for someone like me? Let me assure you, it wasn’t. It was a rare treat, because it offered a whole new level of experience of the magical Potter world through the unbelievable voice talents of Jim Dale. After listening to him, I became a huge fan o…

Now in paperback, AMAZING GRACIE is a moving, funny, and inspirational canine rags-to-riches story. “Tears will stain the pages as you read about Gracie,” says USA Today. The Chicago Tribune advises, “If you’re short on inspiration, read Amazing Gracie.” “You don’t have to be obsessed with dogs to love this story” (Philadelphia Enquirer), “Two paws up” (Portland Oregonian), “humorous yet poignant”…

Review
This is a sweet story of how a dog nobody wanted changed the lives of two men and touched the lives of many more. It is a feel good and fast read. A little too much detail in between events may cause the reader to skim a bit. Overall very inspiring and fun….
I’m not very good at writing reviews, but I just wanted to recommend this book. If you enjoyed Marley and Me or The Art of Racing in the Rain you’ll love this book. I laughed, I cried. I highly recommend this! Also, the author has cookbooks out so you can make tasty treats for you furbaby!…

I have bought a copy of this lens for a pentax k-20 and k-7. It is the worst lens i have in my collection. The international warrenty is completly useless. Do not travel and buy this lens. I have had it for three months and it is a good paper weight. I have tried to get international warrenty on the lens and no one in asia services the lens or does not have the equipment to work on it. The autofocus is so far out it is worthless. Sigma says send it in with camera at my own expense. What a rip off. The IQ is very poor for a lens like this.

I suggest buying a paper weight for 5 dollars. And not a 3000 dollar one.

I wanted more reach for wildlife photography wanted so I settled on the this lens for use with my Nikon D90. I find it to be sharp even with the 2X teleconverter. I use it with a monopod mostly except for birds in flight. It is heavy and the only monopod head I could find to handle it is the one from Really Right Stuff. The build quality looks to be excellent. If they ever made a stabilized version, which they will one day, the big boys will be hurtin’.

I could not afford Nikon’s VR 300mm lens so I picked this one up instead. I’ve routinely shot with Sigma’s 1.4x Teleconverter and 2.0x TC attached and have gotten brilliant results. The lens is more than sharp enough wide open, even with the 2x TC on it. I often photograph birds and there is plenty of detail in the photos. This lens is simply brilliant.

The Sigma 300 F2.8 lens for Sony/Minolta is a great lens for the price. I could not afford The Sony/Minolta equivalent as it was over twice the price. The color, contrast and resolution of this lens is excellent and works great with 1.4 and 2.0 Sigma teleconverters. It also works great with the in-camera image stabilization on the Sony DSLR cameras.

This is a great lens and there’s no doubt about it. The price is way beyond my salary and I had to sell one of my kidneys and take a personal loan just to get the down payment for this baby but it is well worth it.

My advice – follow Sigma’s instruction and always leave the safety on. While I was reading the instruction and I removed the safety, my cat jumped onto the lens and I was startled and pressed the shutter by accident. The lens was pointing towards the floor and the blast from the photon cannon immediately turned my living room into a 12-foot deep crater. The extreme heat from the laser cut off my left toes cleanly just like what Luke Skywalker did to Vader.

Now I have to deal with my home insurance and they do not cover the damage from cannon blast. I have to pay for the repair cost out of my own pocket. I tried to return the lens to cover the repair but the original package was incinerated from the cannon blast. I am now sitting here with missing left toes and a big hole that looks like King kong has just mated with my living room floor. Not to mention that I still can’t find my cat.

I highly recommended the item, only if you know what you are doing like the dude in the picture.

First of all, many of you seem to be getting a laugh from the reviews and comments. The intimidation of this lens would probably lead everyone to think its a missile, rather than a piece of photo gear. Though I haven’t dished out $30k to buy this, (no average Joe will)I was able to borrow it for a few from a friend’s dad, who owns a large photography company in my town. I thought I would give an actual honest review.

Alas, it’s large. Paraphrase that a bit better — it’s huge. It is virtually impossible to take rewarding photos without a heavy-duty tripod. It weighs about as much as my three year old son does. That being said, this lens is downright outstanding for nature, animal, or sport photographers. I personally used it for scenic photos, and it got the job done in a fashion never thought possible. I was able to take a photo of small birds from great distances in a way that I could see the specks of dirt on their feathers. Keep in mind, its not a considerably long focal range. 200mm in reality is not very long, but when used with a tele-convo, I can take pictures at focal lengths close to 1000mm. All in all, build quality is stellar.

When used on my 5D MII and 1D Mark III, I noticed the colors didn’t pop as much as my other lenses, in particular the ones apart of the “L” series by Canon, but I did notice that this lens works great in a large array of light sources. At a mere f/2.8 or so, you can take pictures without having to worry about low light conditions. Obviously, larger light = clearer pictures.

If your looking for a great lens that portrays a great focal range, great build quality, and a nice companion for your (hence) professional photo career, this lens is for you. Its no small cost, obviously you all know that. Besides the cost, there is nothing bad to say about this bad boy. Honestly though, I don’t truly recommend this to any hobbyist because I know you all can use the money toward something a little bit more ‘down to Earth’. If you make a decent amount of profit from your company, go for it. You won’t regret taking the plunge if you do.

I was very surprised that it work so great on my Nikon D700 for the price I paid. Auto focus is accurate and fast. You can’t go wrong with this one, its a winner.

This lens is very cheap for its large aperture, but be warned, it is not very sharp and the auto-focus tends to hunt. If you are photographing as a novice to professional, this lens will not be able to make large prints without you noticing the blurriness in the photos. In 4×6 prints, the lens seems sharp.

The lens feels pretty cheaply made, but does not feel flimsy. There is no lens creep whatsoever.

I have dropped this lens from 4 feet with no damage about a month ago.

first of all, the lens is not the one in the first picture, and it hasnt a golden ring, ( that was a reason why I decided to buy this one as I thought hey it has a golden ring so it is one of the good lenses).

the quality is good, not really a sharp lens, but has a good aperture and wide/zoom capabilities for a great price, so if quality for you is a must, I wouldnt recomend this, but if price is a major factor so yes this one is for you.

I use a Nikon 18-200 zoom lens, and wanted something for closer work, but not too expensive. A friend recommended this lens. The photos I took were excellent, and were a close match to my Nikon lens. I cannot believe that it only sells for less than 80.00. A GREAT bargain!!!!!!

I have owned this lens now for about a month. It was bought to be used on a Nikon D700, D2x, and D200. I have already taken it on a vacation trip to Mesa Verde, Colorado and it performed flawlessly. It does hunt somewhat at close macro distances but I would prefer manual focus on extreme close ups anyway. The reviews talk about the sturdiness and tank-like quality and this is true but it is easy to handhold at normal shutter speeds.

I have used it for macros, for sports photography and portraits. It hardly ever is taken off the D2x since this is the camera of choice for me. Wife has used it on the D700 and since she does photography for her profession, her opinion counts for me. She loves the lens!

The supplied lens hood will mar fairly easily since I already have some small rub marks. I am not sure I like the sparkly finish on the hood and lens but it works and that is what it is supposed to do. I own two other Sigmas, one consumer type zoom lens which is the 28-105mm f2.8/4 which I hardly use and the 12-24mm EX which I use occasionally. My other lenses are all Nikon which include many primes (300mm f4 and f2.8, 70-200mm 2.8 VR, 80-200mm 2.8 and quite a lot of other ones) and this Sigma 180mm f3.5 is every bit the equal in contrast, sharpness and build as the Nikon lenses. I bought this on Amazon through 47th St. Photo at an amazingly low price. I was worried about the merchant because of previous experience but the lens was shipped immediately, arrived boxed and well packed in 2 business days.

Highly recommended.

I just got the lens a few days ago and loving it so far. When I first saw it the first thing that came to mind were the other reviews calling it built like a tank because its just that. Its heavy and although I was concerned that I will only be able to use it with a tripod I still got good handheld shots with a little practice. I will still recommend a tripod.

Very smooth and quite AF. It fast given the range of focal lengths the elements of the must travel. There is a switch with three focus limiting settings which helps. I used it for mostly for macro work which needs to be done via Manaual focus. My lens was a Nikon mount that didnt have an AF/MF switch but manual focus was smooth. The only minor hitch with my D60 was that after manual focusing something it would try to AF once in a while so I had to switch back and forth between AF and MF in my camera. Didnt have any issue most of the time. In my opinion its a small irritant considering the optical quality. The focus ring is HUGE and that helps in fine focusing which is essential for macro.

I am not a professional and dont shoot test charts. I loved the optical quality and it wowed family and friends. A few potrait shots were great too although it was a littel too sharp and I had to use GIMP to blur it a bit.

The working distance with 180 mm is surprisingly small. I’m glad I didnt get a lens of a smaller focal length. This is the second sigma lens I own and am not disappointed with either.

I use this lens on a Canon EOS 5DMkII and I’m amazed! The lens is superfast and supercrisp, The colour reproduction is very lifelike and true. If using the focus limiter, AF (HSM) is quick and absolute silent too. Manual focus is very nice and exact, and it has a comfortable focus grip. Denis

Similar to other reviewers,I too had a 105mm Sigma lens prior to purchasing the Sigma 180mm-and I also wanted more distance from the insects I was photographing. After having been stung by wasps when photographing them,I decided the added expense of longer focal length was necessary.Using a Nikon D-80 and occasionally a Sigma ringlight flash,I was able to obtain outstanding shots with the recommended F/32 setting.Of course, contrary to some reviewers negative comments using AF mode, all my photos were in MANUAL,which is what is prescribed for macro usage.Quality, crisp clear photos, were obtained with this competitive lens…….

We shoot high school sports, so that is how I will reference this review. We could not handle $8K for a 400/2.8 so we looked at this lens. For daytime & early evening, this lens is great! By 8:PM CDT here in Texas, you can retire it to the bag or get ready for ISO 6400 to shoot 1/800 shutter speed or faster. Focus is pretty quick for the most part and we have been happy with the results. My negatives would include the strength required to turn the zoom- I like the fact that it doesn’t drift, but my God you have to be ready to turn that baby…

I wanted to get a long zoom for Wildlife and Astonomy Photography. I was trying to decide between the Sigma 150-500 OS or the 50-500. I saw the 50-500 was getting an update with OS later this summer so I started favoring this focal range. I found a lot of video reviews on the 150-500, but a lot of article reviews on the 50-500. The argrument for either is compeling, but I finally decided on the 50-500 due to the range. Boy am I glad for that. One day at the Cleveland Metropark Zoo convinced me. I miss the OS for the long shots, but the written acrticles were correct, one needs to learn proper holding technique. I have really learned a lot about depth of field/focal length/ISO/standing and supporting technique. If nothing else it is a life time tutorial on technique for just over $1000.00. I could have waited till July for the OS version, but that is not me. When I get something in my head I have to have it. Prior to the zoo trip I had considered returning it and waiting, but I did not and am very happy with that decision. I love the focal range and the fact Sigma includes a hood and tripod mount.I use the trek-tech monopod system and it works great. I rigged a small strap on the dedicated strap bar on the lens so I can use my R-Strap system with it, rather than the supplied strap.

Dislikes are limited to weight (heavier than I thought, but what do you expect for the range so not really a minus). Also when I open the lens wide open at 500mm, it has trouble focusing. My fix, zoom out a little-focus-zoom back in-focus.

Accessories I would recommend: Kenko extension tubes (makes it a macro lens), Trek-tech monopod/magnetic system, and the r-strap(gerry-rig until black rapids and trek-tech get the rumored combo mount out).

This lens is a wonderful learning tool. Should you wait till the os version comes out? If you have $600 for it yes, if not buy the lens and get out shooting. Cleveland weather is warming up and I want to get out an shoot.

This is the most expensive lens that I own. It requires a LOT of light to shoot at fast shutter speeds particularly if you plan on doing some close-up, long-distance shots. It’s got quite a bit of weight behind it, so don’t plan on doing too much handheld photography. Not saying that it’s impossible, but your hands will eventually get tired. For the price, it’s a great lens.

I switched to digital in 2003, buying a Digital Rebel and this lens shortly afterwards so mine’s a very early non-DG version. One of the first things I did was set it up next to my brother-in-law’s 300 2.8 EDIF Nikon and shot a distant fencepost. He and I were both stunned. The Bigma was sharper at all apertures, and yes we went to great lengths to keep all other variables equal. I use it wide open at 500 often and anything that ain’t sharp is my fault.

Build quality is as good it gets. Beleive me, I do not baby my equipment and this thing still works like the day I first used it.

It’s slow, but with a modern body having a cleaner high ISO that is less of an

issue.

USE A MONOPOD! My old Sunpak Ezee Pod folds forward and everything hangs discreetly behind you and carries well by the lens strap. It’s heavy, but you can get used to it.

Throw the kit lens in a pocket, keep a tripod nearby, and you’ll have pretty much all you’ll ever need, incluing a 250mm edge over virtually anyone around you. The range and the potential distance between you and your subject are why you’re buying this lens. Use them wisely and you’ll be well pleased with the results.
